I saw Lew Soloff a couple of years ago at The Concert Hall, Gothenburg, Sweden in Gil Evans and Miles Davis "reinvention" of Gershwin's Porgy & Bess - he was just...amazing!
I have followed Lew since he played for Blood Seat & Tears ... and then had the pleasure of listening to him in Denton, TX in the early 80's...then again in Denver at El Chapultapec in the early 90's.. All I can say is, WOW!.. Lew is one of the best trumpet players.
